Seven common problems and what you can do

Asking your LEA for a "statutory assessment" of your child's special educational needs.

Asking your LEA for a "re-assessment" of your child's special educational needs.

Asking for a meeting to discuss your child's proposed Statement and "expressing a preference for a school."

Asking for the name of the school on your child's Statement to be changed to another maintained school.

I am not happy with the amendments the LEA is proposing to make to my child's Statement.

Asking your LEA to arrange an early review of your child's Statement.

Complaining when your child is not getting the special educational provision on their statement.
